Early childhood education and care

Parents of the children under school age have the option of choosing between various services within early childhood education and care.

Basic Education

There are nine schools for basic education in Kuusamo to ensure safe and stable learning for our children.

General Upper Secondary School, Vocational College and Alpine School

Education for the upper secondary level is provided by General Upper Secondary School, Vocational College and the Vuokatti-Ruka Sports Academy

Enrolment at school and in pre-primary education

Enrolment at school and in pre-primary education is to be done in February.

Student welfare

Student welfare within the primary and lower secondary education includes taking care of the students’ physical, mental and social well-being.

School meal

Feast days along with various theme days bring variety in school meals.

School travels and transports

A pupil may also be required to make some part of the school travel by herself/himself related to trips more than five kilometres.
